About MeI work with individuals and groups to help them bring the gifts of mindfulness into their everyday relationships
I am particularly interested in the power of listening and empathic understanding, and I hold a PhD on the philosophy of empathy from the University of Oxford. Whilst researching my PhD, I trained extensively in Nonviolent Communication - an empathy-based tool-kit for navigating conflict and challenge. Since 2009, I have practiced mindfulness meditation and am passionate about bringing its gifts into everyday interactions. I certified as a leader of Relational Meditation (Relatefulness) in 2021. Relational Mindfulness is a practice of bringing curious awareness to the moment to moment experience of being in connection with other people. Creativity is a foundation of my work. I have spent hundreds of hours training in improvised theatre (especially with Jules Munns and Heather Heather Urquhart) and in 2019 I co-directed an improvised play at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I run workshops blending mindfulness with storytelling, character work and poetry. As well as working with individuals, I have run workshops with the NHS, charities, universities and secondary schools. |
